OpenSourceHost was founded in order to fill a niche within the hosting industry. We are dedicated to open source software and more specifically, content management systems. Due to the resource intensive nature of CMS's, our hosting methodology must be slightly different than your typical web host. We can only place a very limited number of clients per machine and we must monitor system resources constantly in order to provide adequate speed and responsiveness for every client.
Scott Goodwin, the founder of OSH, has been involved with the Internet for over ten years. In 1996, he co-founded what became a very successful ecommerce company. After selling the company in early 2000, Scott went back to college and received an M.B.A. to compliment his MIS undergraduate degree. In 2001, Scott found himself enamored with open source software and a little less than a year later began OpenSourceHost and opensourceCMS.
Since our beginnings in September 2002, OpenSourceHost has helped hundreds of clients and provided services for over 1000 domains. Our tightly focused vision provides us the knowledge and ability to help our clients far beyond the means on the average web host. People initially choose OSH for our extensive knowledge, and stay because of our excellent service.
